My Oil Paintings

 "Floating Island of Antiquity"

This oil painting is inspired by my degree at York University- art and architectural history. I love the Palladian architectural style, and for this painting I included my other interest with fantasy in with the style to create my own interpretation of the floating island concept.

 "Steampunk Airship"

I love the whole notion that the style of Steampunk brings, the vintage victorianesque entwined with futuristic machinery...the age of adventure and exploration...

 "Absinthe"

Hourglass filed with the green substance

 "Jewellery", oil on canvas

This large oil painting was taken from a photograph of an assortment of my own jewellery. It was an experimentation to show that I can paint shiny/reflective objects. The idea of the painting was also to represent my own personality.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Lily", oil on canvas

This oil painting was from a photograph of a lily that I took in art class. The painting is on a large scale which made making the petals easier to paint as I could easily blend in the fiery colours.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

 "Gigeresque", oil on canvas

This oil painting was inspired by H.R.Giger's female faces works, and is the next step from my computer manipulation of St Paul's Cathedral, see "Giger Pod".

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Sea-Dragon", oil on canvas

This oil painting depicts a wizard controlling a sea serpent. The idea of the picture was to experiment with textures.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Fire Dragon", oil on canvas

This dragon oil painting was inspired by the viking wood carvings. I used similar, earthy colours throughout the painting to continue the fiery theme.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Lost Your Marbles", oil on canvas

This marbles piece is very large scale and in the style of the futurist movement. I love how the marbles seem to zoom down the spiral and reflect in the metal barriers on the spiral. This was for my glass objects project.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Autumn Leaves", oil on canvas

This painting was my first ever attempt with my now favourite medium, oil paint. This was inspired by the style of Georgia O'Keefe.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Dragon of Peace", oil on canvas

This was a painting I did purely to pass the time in my free hours at 6th form, and i added it as an additional painting to my dragons project. I really like the outcome! The horns are taken from my drawings of an impala skull.
