 "Something Peculiar"

This was my final A2 project outcome for the 15 hour exam! I am very pleased with how this turned out! This was for my "Alice in Wonderland" project. The cheshire cat was Nick's ginger cat Gingee, who was computer-maipulated into a purple, wide-grinned cat! The hare is taken from one of my art teacher's wildlife photography, and the girl (Alice) is taken from a photograph of me. I used oil paint, watercolour and coloured pencils. The piece is sized 1.5x2m- so it was quite big for me!

"Nick", portrait

I drew this portrait of Nick firstly in felt tips, then i used chalk and charcoal to add tone and shade to the picture.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Lace"

Thisi picture was a drawing of some experimentation in art class where we placed scrap pieces of fabric inbetween lamination sheets. The image includes sections from a lace doily crossed over with strands of fishing net. The image is in oil pastel and chalk.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Vines and Chains"

This was a large-scale watercolour experimentation piece. Whenever i do any spontaneous pieces I always include vines, whatever school subject im in- so i think vines have become my trademark!

 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Skull, Wine, Book & Crystal Ball"

This still life set up was from my own objects- for the wine, as i dont drink alcohol, i used "Ribena"! The skull is a metal decorative ornament and the crystal ball is my own. This picture was completed for my still life A2 fine art project- which was accompanied with a 1000 word essay on the subject. I used oil pastel and acrylic paint.

 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Glass"

This image was one that is different to all my other pictures as it doesnt have a dark theme! This was just to show that i can do other images outside the surreal or macabre theme. It was my own set-up in the style of 17th Century dutch still life using acrylic and coloured pencils.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Marbles"

This marbles piece, in oil pastel, was another piece to show that i can go beyond the surreal/macabre themes that i prefer. Its very colourful- which is unusual for me!

"The Queen of Heart's Tower"

This piece was a developmet piece for my "Alice in Wonderland project. It depicts Alice, the hare and the cheshire cat looking over the hill to the Queen of Heart's tower which is situated in the center of a complex labyrinth. I used acrylics and oil pastels.

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Impala Skull"

I used watercolour and coloured pencil to complete this picture of my art teacher's impala skull. It was used in my dragon project because of it's dragon-like horns.
